Shobhit Jagga
Hi! I'm a 2021 batch graduate in Computer Science from IIT Kanpur. I like working on analytical problems and implementing solutions on them. To generically list a few research directions, I like to approach those statements using human computer interaction, computational cognitive science and game theoretical methods. In my free time, I enjoy playing badminton and reading fiction.
Experience
- [March 2022 - Ongoing] Quantitative researcher at Quadeye
- [June 2021 - March 2022] Data engineer at Microsoft
- [May - July 2020] Software Development Intern at Microsoft
- [May - August 2019] Research Intern at Indiana University, Bloomington under Prof. Sameer Patil
- [September 2018 - April 2019] Member of team ERA participating in ICRA DJI Robomaster under Prof. Laxmidhar Behera
- [May - July 2018] Summer of Code organised by Nutanix under Prof. Sandeep Shukla
Research
I have worked in the area of computational cognitive science, game theory, human computer interaction and computer systems.
I have worked on the following research projects with some of them fortunately getting published as a full paper or poster :).
- Computational Modeling of Procrastination(accepted in CogSci2021 as a full paper)
We model procrastination as rational metareasoning of task effort with the framework of evidence accumulation models.
Coauthors: Prof. Nisheeth Srivastava and Prof. Narayanan Srinivasan [pdf]. - Inducing preference reversals by manipulating revealed preferences (published in CogSci2020 as a full paper)
We induced preference reversals by a process observable to the experimenter to gain better insights into the decision making process.
Coauthors: Harish Balakrishnan and Prof. Nisheeth Srivastava [pdf] -
Parallel application scaling analysis using harware counters (accepted in HPDC2021 in the poster category)
We built a counter collection light weight library using PAPI for analysis of parallel program scaling behaviors using clustering, correlation and graphical methods.
Coauthor: Prof. Preeti Malakar [pdf] -
No-wastage resource allocation without money
Our proposed mechanism is a no-wastage (of resource) truthful mechanism which works without any monetary transfers among agents.
Supervisor: Prof. Swaprava Nath . -
User privacy management in android phones using an android app paired with smartwatch
The aim was to build a smartphone application which can help the users monitor and manage their privacy permissions better to reduce privacy leaks
Supervisor - Prof. Sameer Patil -
Desktopography - Smart desk using Microsoft kinect and OpenCV
The project ended up with us performing actions with hand on a non touch screen desk using projector, camera and image processing.
